Recap

The fans were clapping and the sounds of thunderous chants from the players’ benches…” Go Canadiens Go!!! and Go Leafs Go!!!! can be heard echoing  for miles outside the noisy Aurora Community Center. It was another lively affair between the home team Canadiens and the visiting leafs as the home team defeated the Leafs 9 to 5. The ever reliable Jacob Norris scored a hatrick  for the Canadiens  while Jack Thibault and Alex Donaldson each netted 2 goals.Philip Stylianou and Athan Kalpakis  rounded out the scoring for the Canadiens.  For the leafs , Brant Cochran played a strong game while scoring 2 goals.Mathew Leybourne ,Kai Christie and Alex Pelland also scored for the Leafs .

What a night it was for the goaltenders. Constantine Karpouzis started for the Canadiens and made 5 spectacular saves before  leaving the game due to a minor injury.Athan Kalpakis  volunteered to take over and made some amazing stops to help lead the Canadiens to victory and to earn him a player of the game award. Liam Brosseau also made some key stops for the leafs but the Canadiens were too strong on this day while  slowing  down the Leafs with some strong forchecking. Both teams have a tie and a victory so far in this 8 game series. Looking forward to another fun game  next week between these 2 original six teams.
