SPRING HOCKEY Season
SPRING HOCKEY FOR TYKE LEVEL PLAYERS 2011 – 2013
With the feel and smell of Spring in the air, Original Six Hockey is excited to announce Spring Hockey for Tyke Level Players from 2011 to 2013. With limited spaces available, we will strive to accommodate as many players as possible including many backup players. Spring Hockey is designed for players to develop their individual skills, their creative senses, and their love for the game. While we try to achieve a true hockey playoff atmosphere every game, we promise both players and parents will be thrilled with the overall quality of the games.
Here are some key highlights to the Original Six Spring Hockey Program.
- We will be using 2 Original Six Simulated NHL Logos on the
Jerseys…”CANADIENS” VS “LEAFS” - There will be one tryout session (to help balance the 2 teams the best we can to achieve competitive games) players will all have opportunity to play forward and defence. We will take into consideration the following factors when balancing teams/ lines…age, skill level, and body build of players. This will help to ensure a safe, fun and competitive game.
- There will be 8 (50 min games …and there will be 2 fun skill sessions or extended games (to be determined)….total on ice hours …approx. 11 hours.
- There will be Scoreboard Tracking, Player Goal and Assist Tracking, between whistle music and goal /assist announcement. We will have a Live Puck after goals and penalty shots after player infraction.
- There will be Player of the Game Praise for each team
- There will be a Mini” Stanley Cup” presented to the series winner between the ‘HABS’ and the’ LEAFS ‘. As well as a prize for all players
- There will be Refs to help reinforce and teach important hockey concepts such as player positioning, off sides and player safety.
- There will be Coaches/ Parent volunteers on the bench to guide players for proper line changing, and to reinforce and teach Hockey Fundamentals as well as reminding them to have fun while playing with an edge and determination.
- There will be pizza, healthy veggies, cake, water/juice and coffee after our “Stanley Cup” Final Spring Game for both players and parents.
- Cost…for 11 hours of hockey games and instruction, jerseys and socks…… $ 160 ($ 14 per game).
- Please keep in mind that your commitment to a majority of games is important since there are many other players who will want to play but can’t when the 2 rosters are filled. We will invite many Backups as well when the Rosters are filled.
